PayByPhone and The City of Winnipeg Update Their Contactless Parking Experience

Residents and visitors of The City of Winnipeg will now have a better parking experience thanks to PayByPhone.

The leading global provider of mobile parking payment solutions, PayByPhone and The City of Winnipeg have replaced their 4-digit parking numbers with new 6-digit numbers that are unique to each block face. New parking signs have been installed to help you locate your block number quickly, and you can also find your parking location number by using PayByPhone’s Maps feature. Using the Maps feature will identify the correct block number automatically using location services on your mobile device. If you’re using the mapping feature, pay for your parking before leaving your vehicle. Otherwise, your mobile device may register the payment on a different block face with the wrong number.

“We’re thrilled to be improving our contactless parking service across the City of Winnipeg,” said Roamy Valera, CEO of PayByPhone. “The City of Winnipeg has been a long-standing partner of 14 years, and we are thrilled for the opportunity to keep building a successful parking program with them year over year.”

PayByPhone is a hassle-free solution for over 43 million registered drivers, allowing them to pay for parking with just their smartphone. The app sends text messages automatically when a parking session expires and gives drivers the ability to extend their parking session without needing to return to their vehicle. Drivers can also begin a session without registering for an account, making it ideal for those who are pressed for time.

PayByPhone Brings a Better Parking Experience to Bowling Green State University

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – August 18, 2020 – Bowling Green State University is introducing an app-based parking payment option for an estimated 1,850 short term parking spaces on the University’s main campus. BGSU parking customers can now utilize the PayByPhone mobile app to pay for one-time parking use.

“We are excited to introduce the PayByPhone App,” said Tom Kelly, manager of Parking and Shuttle Services at BGSU. “This will simplify short-term parking for all BGSU parking customers, offering a convenient and contactless option that will support our health and safety priorities.”

Once the PayByPhone app is launched, the motorist enters their parking location, their length of stay and pays. When a parking session expires, the app sends the user a text message prompting them to extend their parking session remotely, saving the need of having to return to their car to feed the meter.

While faculty, staff and student parking passes provide a lower cost, the PayByPhone parking app will allow for flexibility and convenience in single-use parking.

“Campuses in North America are increasingly adopting the PayByPhone app because it simplifies and modernizes parking for students, faculty and visitors,” said Roamy Valera, PayByPhone CEO.
