APDS Releases Version 1.0 of
Global Parking Data Standard
The British Parking Association (BPA) and the European Parking Association (EPA) have joined forces with the International Parking Institute (IPI) to form the Alliance for Parking Data Standards, (APDS) a new, not for profit organization focused on developing and managing an international data standard for the parking industry.
The current phases of the APDS standard development work are funded by the UK government’s Department for Transport and the three founding Associations. APDS has leveraged the working papers previously developed during the IPI-DataEx initiative as well as documentation developed by BPA and EPA to produce the first release of the APDS international standard. An Overview of the APDS work program is available here.
Starting Friday, August 17, Release 1.0 covering the draft standard for the Data Domains, Parking Place, Rate and Occupancy will be available. The Release 1.0 technical documents contain Data Model, Use Cases, and Data Dictionary. They provide much more detail on the standard outlined in the Overview document. To manage the distribution of the technical documents effectively and ensure feedback is collected and collated, we are asking each individual/organization to request the documents via an online form.
Request Release 1.0 here.
All are invited to provide formal feedback on Release 1.0 during the consultation period that will end on 15 October 2018.
For more information, attend one of two free webinars introducing APDS on 18 September (9 am ET) and 25 September (2 pm ET) to further explain the APDS data standard and our planned activities.
