(Alexandria, Va., June 21, 2018) – Mike Drow, CAPP, senior vice president, corporate development, T2 Systems, and Daniel “Duke” Hanson, business development, PayLock, received the 2018 IPI Chair Award at the IPI Conference & Expo in Orlando, Fla. this month.
The Chair Award is bestowed by the current IPI Chair and honors IPI members who made significant contributions to the work of the chair and the association during the year.
In presenting the awards, IPI Chair Roamy Valera, CAPP, cited the contribution Drow has made as co-chair of IPI’s Technology Committee and as a dedicated member of the IPI team working to developing global parking data standards, now through the recently established Alliance for Parking Data Standards.
“Developing a data standard has been a big task with hundreds of people working on its development, but Mike in particular has shown tremendous leadership in this project, which is going to benefit the entire global parking community,” said Valera.
Hanson, also a 2018 Chair Award recipient, is a long-time, recognized leader in the parking industry with more than 30 years of operational, consulting, and sales experience. He has provided countless hours volunteering for IPI committees and projects and has been a significant contributor to IPI’s vision for the future.
“Duke has a passion for mentoring and coaching,” explained Valera, who was personally mentored by Hanson throughout his own career. “In chairing the William M. Voigt CAPP Classic Golf Tournament committee for many years, Duke has raised thousands of dollars for the CAPP parking credential scholarship fund, enabling many parking professionals to earn their CAPP and raising the bar for professionalism in our field.”
IPI is the world’s largest association of parking professionals in the parking, transportation, and mobility industry.
