Miami Parking Authority Announces the Launch of ParkMobile in Miami

MIAMI, FL — Miami Parking Authority (MPA) announces the launch of ParkMobile in Miami. The leading provider of mobile parking payment products, ParkMobile will launch in Miami effective Monday, March 3, 2025. With a longstanding record in other cities in South Florida, ParkMobile will be added as an additional parking payment option alongside PayByPhone to the MPA product portfolio. ParkMobile is the leading provider of parking solutions in the U.S. Located in eight of the top 10 cities, ParkMobile prides itself on providing both cities and drivers a more efficient way to manage and pay for parking digitally. In 2021, ParkMobile was acquired by the Easy Park Group, a Sweden-based mobility solutions company. Currently, ParkMobile is recognized as a brand under the EasyPark Group name. For customers who park in Miami, the convenience is unmatched. ParkMobile and PayByphone users can pay for parking using the same location number. In addition, Miami residents will continue to enjoy the resident discounted parking rate when they register with MPA, ensuring that the benefits of the existing system are not lost with the addition of ParkMobile. “When MPA launched PayByPhone in Miami about 16 years ago, the decision was rooted in deriving a benefit to the customer, meaning a seamless, quick, and easy way to pay for parking,” said Alejandra “Alex” Argudin, Chief Executive Officer. “That purpose remains unwavering today. Considering the city’s rapid growth rate, transformation, and traffic challenges, adopting ParkMobile will afford customers an additional payment option, help enhance urban mobility, and increase consumer engagement.” The process is designed to be as user-friendly as possible for the consumer. When they pull into a space, they can easily open either the ParkMobile or PayByPhone app, select the location number, set the time, and begin parking, all with a few simple smartphone taps. Download either app. “We’re on a mission to make cities more livable by providing advanced parking and mobility solutions that further enhance and improve a city’s overall infrastructure,” said David Holler, vice president of sales at ParkMobile. “We’re thrilled to be expanding in southern Florida to provide more access and choice to Miami visitors and residents.” Both apps will continue to offer customers the benefit of sending notifications before the parking session expires. By sending an alert before the session expires, parkers will know precisely when the time will run out, avoiding citations. About Miami Parking Authority MPA is committed to unlocking the potential of deploying breakthrough technology to make the parking experience easier, enhance urban mobility, and forging public-private initiatives that foster economic development. Officially known as the Department of Off-Street Parking of the City of Miami, the MPA was created in 1955 by a Special Act of the Florida State Legislature and incorporated into the City of Miami's Charter in 1968. Parkopedia, AWT Bavaria Ukraine and BMW AG improve EV charging experiences in Ukraine

London, UK / Kyiv, Ukraine - Parkopedia and AWT Bavaria Ukraine, in conjunction with BMW AG, have completed the integration of 4,272 Ukrainian charge points into selected BMW models and the MyBMW app, improving the driving and charging experience for BMW EV drivers in the country. This new partnership enables AWT Bavaria Ukraine, the official importer for the BMW Group in Ukraine and Parkopedia to ensure the greatest possible convenience for their EV drivers in the second-largest country in Europe. The addition of accurate and comprehensive charge point information in Ukraine plays a significant role in facilitating the transition to EVs in this important emerging market. The integration allows EV drivers to easily find the nearest charging stations on their desired routes and select their favourite charging providers via their vehicles and the MyBMW app. Drivers can access information on the exact location and features of the charging station, plus, verify the availability of free chargers, saving them time and reducing any associated charging anxiety. EV sales continue to increase in developed markets, with some of the highest growth rates witnessed in emerging markets, such as Ukraine, where historic uptake has been low. Parkopedia is supporting BMW AG and AWT Bavaria Ukraine to roll out charging coverage in emerging markets, as part of our global EV Charging product. Highlighting the value of this partnership, Markus Dohl, VP of Sales Europe at Parkopedia, said: “This latest partnership demonstrates our continued focus on enabling EV drivers to locate and navigate to their desired charging locations around the world. In-car EV charging data plays a pivotal role in emerging EV markets and is crucial in facilitating the uptake of EVs in Ukraine. We are honoured to provide this service in the country, which wouldn’t be possible without the collaboration of our local CPO partners.” Erik Berning, CEO of AWT Bavaria, added: “We always strive to provide our customers with the best driving experience possible, and this partnership with Parkopedia is an important step in this direction. By expanding access to charging stations and providing information about them, we are making electric car ownership even more convenient and affordable. Such important partnerships help to contribute to the development of environmentally friendly mobility in Ukraine and improve the experience of electric vehicle usage.” This in-market service is powered by innovative CPO partners: YASNO E-Mobility, TOKA and Ecofactor (including the local IONITY network), along with GO TO-U, who has previously collaborated with Parkopedia on additional EV charging services. About Parkopedia Parkopedia is the leading connected car services provider used by automakers, organizations and millions of drivers around the world. Parking: From Mundane to Marvel

Who would have thought something as mundane as parking could ignite such a boom in the tech world? We’ve come a long way from punching holes in tickets and counting cars on our toes. The idea of effortlessly gliding into a parking garage—without even glancing at an entry device—once felt as futuristic as flying cars and robotic maids. And yet, here we are—zipping in without a care in the world, our cars recognized automatically, payments handled invisibly, and spaces reserved with a tap on our phones. Behind this seamless experience lies strategic collaboration that has driven this growth. As an industry, letting go of rigid proprietary thinking opened the door of innovation. Through partnerships, we’ve been able to bring these advancements to life, with the goal of enhancing the user experience. Collective efforts between technology providers, asset owners and Operators have elevated parking into a meaningful player in tech. Each has a role in shaping the future of this ever-evolving industry—and the journey is just beginning! We depend on our technology partners to understand the market and identify trends shaping our industry. They’ve risen to the challenge, delivering powerful AI-driven solutions, frictionless options, and dynamic messaging systems that ensure every parker can find their perfect space, so no driver is left behind… But it’s not just about a cool story bro, these technologies must also be intuitive, reliable, and scalable to meet the diverse and evolving needs of our dynamic industry. Collaboration with asset and ownership groups that prioritize future customer needs is the key to success. While mindful spending is important, investing in a strong foundation today allows us to redefine the parking experience and maximize future revenues. And let’s not forget the operators. They navigate the complexities of managing multiple systems while balancing the delicate relationships between technology providers, ownership groups, and the public. As the front line to customers, their efforts ensure the smooth operation of the ecosystem. Together, as technology partners, asset owners, and operators, we are shaping parking into an industry driven by innovation, collaboration, and growth.
