Interactive Park(ing) Day activation to highlight how smart parking solutions optimize urban space and make cities more livable

On Friday, September 18, two parking spaces won’t be hosting a car, it will be a canvas. ParkMobile, the leading provider of digital parking solutions in North America and part of global mobility platform Arrive, is turning standard parking spaces into a vibrant public hub for the City of Coral Gables’ annual Park(ing) Day. Designed to challenge how cities utilize valuable curb space, the day-long activation showcases how smarter parking technology and thoughtful space optimization can reclaim urban environments for people, converting static pavement into dynamic “third spaces” that bring communities together.

To highlight the initiative and its ongoing investment in the greater Miami area, ParkMobile is collaborating with local artist Oscar Galvis for a live painting activation on-site from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Community members and local drivers are invited to watch the artwork take shape, learn more about thoughtful urban mobility and enjoy complimentary frozen treats from local restaurant, Morelia Gourmet Paletas.

“Parking spaces occupy some of the most valuable real estate in our cities,” said Benoit Reliquet, Head of Parking at Arrive, North America. “Park(ing) Day offers a powerful, tangible glimpse into what happens when we think of spatial usage. At ParkMobile, our mission goes beyond simplifying payments. We leverage data-driven insights to optimize curb space, ease traffic congestion and empower cities to transform underutilized parking spots into vibrant community places.”

“We are pleased to welcome ParkMobile as a partner in Coral Gables’ Park(ing) Day celebration,” said Monica Beltran, Director of Parking, Sustainability and Mobility. “This creative activation invites people to experience familiar curb space in a new way and helps raise awareness of how thoughtful mobility and public-space planning can contribute to a more walkable, connected and livable community. We hope residents, businesses and visitors will stop by and enjoy seeing art transform an everyday parking space.”
