Trademark registration underscores the importance of Bendheim’s innovative no-drill approach to architectural glass installation

This is an important milestone for a technology developed to simplify the installation of large architectural glass panels while providing architects greater design freedom.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued U.S. Trademark Registration No. 8,388,716 for GripGlaze to Bendheim, LLC. The registration establishes GripGlaze as a federally protected Bendheim trademark and reflects the growing importance of the system within the company’s portfolio of engineered architectural glass solutions.

Introduced in 2025, GripGlaze was developed as an alternative to traditional glass attachment systems that can require holes, notches and complex hardware. At the heart of the system is a low-profile, precision engineered aluminum fastener that secures glass panels through compression. The compression fasteners mount directly to the supporting structure, eliminating the need to drill or notch the glass. The approach can reduce fabrication requirements, simplify and speed field installation, give installers greater flexibility in positioning glass panels, and significantly reduce project costs. The result is a system that addresses both the practical and aesthetic sides of architectural glass design: making large glass panels easier to install while minimizing the visual impact of the supporting hardware.
That simplicity can be particularly valuable on large or complex projects, where fabrication errors or field misalignment can increase costs and affect construction schedules.
“Architects increasingly want expansive glass surfaces with as little visible supporting hardware as possible, but those designs also have to be practical to fabricate and install,” Elieh said. “GripGlaze was created to bring those two objectives together.”
