When you become an Accredited Parking Organization (APO), your organization earns industry-wide recognition and greater credibility.
APO is a designation for organizations that have achieved a comprehensive standard of excellence.
Launched in 2015 by IPMI, the accreditation recognizes best practices in responsible parking management and operations, access management, customer service, professional development, security, sustainability and more.
To become an APO, an organization must demonstrate its commitment to ongoing evaluation and improvement of program outcomes through the implementation of industry best practices. The APO with Distinction designation is reserved for organizations exceeding the standard.
Wondering how long APO accreditation really takes? Matt Sumpter, PE, an experienced APO Site Reviewer, shares practical insights on realistic timelines, common challenges, and why thoughtful planning is essential. Discover how allowing enough time can make the accreditation process smoother, strengthen your organization, and position your team for long-term success.
For many communities, parking enforcement is viewed simply as issuing citations and keeping traffic moving. In Upper Darby Township, PA, however, parking enforcement has evolved into something much bigger: a professional, customer-focused service that supports public safety, accessibility, economic vitality, and mobility.
That transformation did not happen overnight.
