IPI Now Offering Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) for All Online Parking Courses
International accreditation body IACET designates IPI as “Authorized Provider”
The International Parking Institute (IPI) has been accredited as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), the only standard-setting organization approved by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for continuing education and training.
Authorized Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs), which are universally accepted by groups such as the American Institute of Architects and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
Effective immediately, all IPI courses will offer CEUs. Online courses currently available are:
• Introduction to Parking (.3 CEUs)
• Parking Enforcement (.15 CEUs)
• Technology Trends in Parking (.1 CEUs)
• Customer Service (.1 CEUs)
• Conflict Resolution (.15 CEUs)
• On-Street Parking Management (.15 CEUs)
CAPP management courses offered at the annual IPI Conference& Expo will also be eligible for CEUs. And the new CEUs can be used as points required for CAPP candidate eligibility. More details are available in the professional development section of IPI’s website at parking.org.
“Our new accreditation from IACET is a demonstration of our commitment to lifelong learning and high standards for all of our programs,”explained Liliana Rambo, CAPP, chair of the IPI Board of Directors. “We are very pleased to join such a prestigious organization as well as an elite group of organizations that offer excellent continuing education and training programs.”
Kristopher J. Newbauer, president of IACET and director of learning and organization development at Rotary International, said IACET is pleased to establish the relationship with IPI as an Authorized Provider. “The International Parking Institute joins organizations around the globe that have had their programs vetted by third-party experts in continuing education to ensure the highest possible standards are met,”Newbauer added.
To achieve Authorized Provider accreditation, IPI completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor and successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2013 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. The accreditation period extends for five years. Other organizations designated as Authorized Providers include the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, National Institute of Standards and Technology, CASTI Codes and Standards Training Institute, the Walt Disney Company, and the American Red Cross.
