MAPA 2020 SCHOLARSHIP

The Middle Atlantic Parking AssociationDEADLINE EXTENDED TO JUNE 30TH!

Each year MAPA awards Scholarships to deserving students. The award(s) are for one academic year. Applicants may reapply for subsequent years but may only win once The scholarship award may be used towards an accredited institution of higher learning or professional parking certification program. The Deadline is June 30, 2020 and the scholarship will be awarded directly to the institution in August.

Eligibility:

To be eligible for the MAPA Scholarship Award you must be:

1. An employee (full-time, part-time, or student) of a MAPA organization member.

2. A spouse or dependent child of an employee of a MAPA organization member.

3. An employee must be employed for one year at the time of application.

Join IPMI for a free online shoptalk to discuss and collaborate about the effects of the COVID-19 virus and the industry’s response. Moderated by Casey Jones, CAPP, former IPMI chair, this hour-long discussion will provide insights, evolving best practices and ideas/solutions to help your organization cope with these challenges. Moderator:

Casey Jones, CAPP is a recognized transportation and parking industry leader with over 24 years industry experience overseeing parking and transportation programs in the Pacific Northwest and at the University of Colorado and Boise State University.  He’s spent the past 10 years providing consulting and project management services to universities, cities and hospitals focusing on improving customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, and financial performance.  His public and private sector operational experience complements his strong project management skills and experience. Jones currently serves as Senior Parking & Mobility Planner for DESMAN. He is past chairman of the board for the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI), he serves on the Accredited Parking Organization Board of Directors and is a board director for the California Public Parking Association and Pacific Intermountain Parking and Transportation Association.

Robert Ferrin Bio ImgRobert Ferrin, Assistant Director for Parking Services, Columbus, Ohio, oversees the administration, enforcement, operations, and management of public parking for the City of Columbus.

In June 2019 he was elected to the International Parking and Mobility Institute (IPMI) Board of Directors. Robert moved to Columbus in late 2017 from Colorado, where he spent nearly seven years working in various parking leadership roles with the City and County of Denver as their Manager of On-Street Programs and the City of Aurora as their Parking & Mobility Manager. Robert is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned a Bachelor and Master of Geography degrees.
