IPMI News: CAPP Scholarship Recipients Awarded Nearly $10,000 in 2020 to Advance the Profession

CAPP Scholarship Recipients Awarded Nearly $10,000 in 2020 to Advance the Profession

The International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI) this year provided nearly $9,000 in CAPP Scholarship funds to 17 industry professionals to further their professional educations.

CAPP is the premier credential for parking, mobility, and transportation professionals and is administered by IPMI in partnership with the University of Virginia. CAPP Scholarship funds are donated by industry members to help their colleagues continue professional development when courses, travel, or other factors are outside their budgets.

“2020 was a difficult year for our industry and, unfortunately, many of our individual members,” said Shawn Conrad, CAE, chief executive officer of IPMI. “Thanks to generous donations to the CAPP Scholarship fund, our people were able to continue learning and reaching their goals despite financial challenges.”

Recipients used scholarship funds to attend online education, the 2020 IPMI Virtual Parking & Mobility Conference & Expo, the 2020 IPMI Leadership Summit, and a host of webinars, seminars, and special offerings; these have become more vital with rapid technological and operational changes in the industry.

“We’re proud of the kindness and support IPMI’s members have shared with their colleagues and delighted to have been able to award scholarships and ultimately help advance someone’s career. We are grateful to everyone who’s made that possible through donations,” said Conrad.

IPMI offers significant resources free to our members to support the pursuit and maintenance of the industry’s leading credential, including both in-person and remote-proctored testing to assist our members during the continuing response to the COVID-19 crisis.  Know a colleague in transition? Let them know we are offering free transitional memberships for individuals looking for their next position as part of our Stay Connected efforts.
