Mississauga, a popular lakefront shopping destination and the second largest municipality in the Great Toronto Area (GTA) with a population of over 720,000, underwent significant change after gtechna was awarded a five-year contract through the city’s RFP in August of 2020. In turn, Mississauga adopted a comprehensive suite of products complete with license plate recognition for handheld and vehicle integration, ticket issuance and processing, appeals and court scheduling, and an online portal and digital permits system to provide convenient access to all ticketing and permitting needs with fewer touchpoints.
Markham, the fourth largest city in the GTA (pop. 325,000+), also underwent considerable change in their infrastructure, shifting from physical, on-site hosting to a secure cloud-based system and a complete product suite of enforcement and management solutions— including an online digital permitting portal.
Goderich, a tourism hotspot that was also named one of Ontario’s best small towns by Comfort Life, also adopted a full gtechna product suite and implemented a brand new parking enforcement program. Complete with digital permits and Pay by Plate enforcement, the new system will help to drastically improve enforcement efficiency and provide a more friendly and convenient way for residents and tourists alike to handle tickets and permits online.
