A New IPMI Member Portal and Forum, Coming Soon

WOman smiling using computerIn the next few days, you’ll be introduced to IPMI’s new member portal, offering a simplified, more intuitive experience. Making changes to and maintaining your member profile, registering for events, and keeping up with everything at your association is about to get easier and more efficient. Be on the lookout for an email explaining these changes, along with a video tour of your new online member experience. We think you’re going to love it.

At the same time, IPMI’s Forum is evolving! Thanks to feedback from IPMI members and the move to a new platform, Forum will soon be easier to use and friendlier to visit, and we’re looking forward to introducing you to all of its new (simple—we promise) features and a fresh, new look very soon.

You will continue to receive the IPMI Blog in your email every day during this transition, and we’ll make sure to let you know as soon as we have a firm launch date for our new Forum. You’ll get a more comprehensive and easier to read daily digest email after that as well (winning!).

Thanks for using IPMI’s member portal and Forum and for your patience while we move to a better experience for everyone. In the meantime, please get in touch if we at IPMI can be helpful. We can’t wait to show you around our new site!

IPMI News: Message from the IPMI CEO & Chair – Stay Connected

We know you and your staff are facing huge challenges and many have already faced the reality of reducing your workforces as well. You are not alone. We want you to know we are here with you and will offer steadfast support during these unprecedented times.

IPMI is wholly committed to helping you stay connected with your fellow industry professionals so you can continue to share challenges, find solutions, and tap into a wealth of resources that is the hallmark of IPMI. We are continuing to build additional online resources daily and invite you to share this message with every member of your staff and industry colleagues.

This is not “business as usual” and we stand committed to support you now and into the future—when our country, our industry, and our organizations make a sure recovery from this crisis.

Ways to Stay Connected

  • Parking & Mobility magazine is going fully digital to ensure the fastest, most reliable delivery to you and your staff members wherever you are. Receive it free to your office or home email, or both. Click here to request a digital subscription.
  • Forum, IPMI’s online community, is the place your peers are connecting, asking and answering questions, and sharing their experiences with colleagues. If you are not receiving its daily digest email, please let us know; also reach out if we can help you with logging in or an orientation to the site.
  • On March 31, we are hosting additional free, industry-specific Shoptalks related to the COVID-19 crisis.  You determine the topics and conversation by sharing issues important to you and participating live. Recordings are posted for those who cannot attend the live events, and we will continue to convene our community this way regularly to keep in touch.
  • IPMI has opened up a series of free on-demand courses and webinars to our members to create and maintain professional development opportunities for your entire team at no charge.
  • For individuals facing job transition, IPMI has waived membership fees, and created the IPMI Resume Exchange on Forum for professionals interested in posting resumes and making connections with potential employers. Members update their online profiles with direct imports from LinkedIn. Our Career Center provides members with position listings free of charge, which are shared on Forum and social media.

Are You Taking Advantage of Us?

By Courtney Turner

I had the pleasure of meeting many of you at the 2019 IPMI Conference & Expo in Anaheim. For those who didn’t make it to the IPMI Community Center or who didn’t find themselves accosted by yours truly when you sat down at one of the tables there, I wanted to take this opportunity to refresh your memory about your organization’s membership benefits. If we spoke at all at Conference–even in passing–you probably heard me mention Forum, our online community. I tout it as my personal favorite in our menu of benefits, but we have so much to offer our members and it’s my job to make sure you are fully utilizing your benefits!

Here’s a recap of some of our member benefits–read through and see where you’re missing out. IPMI members can:

  • Save up to approximately $300 on registration for the annual IPMI Conference & Expo–plan ahead for IPMI 2020 in San Antonio, May 31 – June 3.
  • Receive discounts on monthly webinars (led by the parking and mobility profession’s leading experts), online training courses, and CAPP and APO certifications.
  • Access our searchable, online Membership Directory.
  • Join a Committee.
  • Engage in Forum, our members-only online community;
  • Receive IPMI’s publications: our monthly magazine, Parking & Mobility (up to four paper copies of magazine and unlimited access to digital edition for entire staff); IPMInsider, our bi-weekly e-newsletter; and Moving Forward, our professional development newsletter.
  • Read and post the latest news about parking people, products, and services on the home page of the IPMI website.
  • Submit news that is also shared in the IPMInsider.
  • Post RFPs (which are then published in the Insider);
  • Access our online Buyers Guide.
  • Post a job/find a job in CareerHQ.
  • Read and/or contribute to the Blog.
  • Peruse the Resource Center for publications, white papers, and resources.

I chose to reiterate the membership benefits in this blog post thanks to a conversation I had with one of our members who attended one of my Community Center membership talks. This member had recently hired for a position and while listening to my talk, realized that they had forgotten all about CareerHQ. Posting the job opening on CareerHQ would have allowed this member to tap into a network of parking, transportation, and mobility professionals with the skill sets and experience needed for that particular position. Instead, they wound up hiring someone they’re not entirely sure will work out. Folks, use us! Post your openings in CareerHQ, let people know on Forum that you’re looking for qualified candidates–reach out to your peers, network, and let us (and our resources) help you!

Don’t miss out. If you have any questions at all about your membership benefits, please email or call me. I’m here to support you.
