IPI Professional Development Course: Parking Design, Maintenance, & Rehabilitation — September 26-27, Anaheim, Calif.

In this two-day course, you will learn the history of contributing issues affecting parking facility maintenance; identify and understand the importance of appropriate functional design elements; join in lively discussions about rehabilitation efforts in parking facilities for concrete, post tensioning systems, precast concrete, waterproofing, and typical structural repair and strengthening needs; and learn to identify and discuss typical surface lot maintenance and rehabilitation issues, needs, costs, and options!

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • Use demand study and financial analysis including community development initiatives, federal and state funding initiatives, and financing options.
  • Explain the procurement and project management processes including relationships with Architect/Engineer/Contractor (A/E/C) consultants, site selection, design and construction, and regulatory requirements.
  • Recognize the importance of appropriate functional design elements.
  • Evaluate technology including revenue access equipment, smart-phones, license plate recognition, peak demand utilization strategies, and predictive parking algorithms.
  • Evaluate maintenance programs versus rehabilitation/replacement options.
  • Identify typical structural, mechanical, and equipment systems problems in parking facilities.
  • Identify and discuss typical surface lot maintenance and rehabilitation issues, needs, costs, and options.
  • Employ follow-up steps for new or rehabilitated facilities to best preserve conditions and aesthetics.

CAPP POINTS & CEUs
This course is open to all.
All potential CAPP candidates who register and participate will receive 10 CAPP points toward their CAPP application. Recertifying CAPPs can earn the required annual four points towards Program Type 2, Professional Development. 1.0 CEU will be earned.In order to claim CEUs, you must score 70 percent or higher on the end of course assessment.

COST
IPI Members: $450; Non-Members: $650
Registration includes two full days of intensive technical sessions, all seminar materials and identified meals. If the seminar is canceled for any reason, fees will be refunded. If unable to attend, registrant must notify IPI at least 10 days prior to the seminar to receive a refund (less a $50 administrative fee).
