A whole host of apps do it. Waze has announced plans to do it. Google Maps is jumping in. And now it seems cars themselves will help drivers locate available parking spaces.
Digital map service Here will start enabling some German cars, including those from Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and BMW, to help drivers find parking spaces via anonymous crowdsourced data even if they don’t have smartphones with them. No action will be required from the driver and the operation will be totally hands-free. Additionally Inrix annouced today that its parking-locating services will be offered in some Mercedez-Benz models.
