IPMI Recognizes Outstanding Design, Sustainability, Innovation, and Renovations in Parking, Transportation, and Mobility

FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA: Parking, mobility, and mixed-use projects and programs showcasing creativity, innovation, sustainability, and forward-thinking are recognized by the International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI) with 2022 IPMI Awards of Excellence.
IPMI’s Awards of Excellence program showcases outstanding parking and transportation facilities and innovative programs to further the parking, transportation, and mobility industry. Entries are reviewed by a panel of expert judges from every segment of the industry and ranked across a wide spectrum of criteria.
“This year’s Awards of Excellence winners overcame significant challenges the last few years have thrown at our industry, leading teams to complete projects that showcase with creativity, innovation, and responsiveness to patron needs,” said IPMI CEO Shawn D. Conrad, CAE. “Their commitments to meeting the goals of the communities they serve and providing results that forward the parking and mobility industry as a whole make them worthy of accolade, and it is an honor to recognize them with these awards.”
This year’s Awards of Excellence winners are:
- Award of Excellence for Architectural Design: City of Hope Parking Structure A, submitted by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.
- Award of Excellence for Mixed-Use Parking & Mobility Facility Design: University of Kentucky Cornerstone Mixed-Use Facility, submitted by THA Consulting, Inc.
- Award of Excellence for Stand-Alone Structured Parking Facility Design: South Gondola Lot Parking Structure, submitted by Walker Consultants.
- Award of Excellence for Innovation in a Mobility, Transportation, or Parking Program: Free Flow Parking at loanDepot Park, submitted by the Miami Parking Authority.
- Award of Excellence for Innovation in a Mobility, Transportation, or Parking Program: The Bay Runner Trolley and Micromobility Program, submitted by the City of Sarasota.
This year’s Awards of Merit winners are:
- Award of Merit for Architectural Design and Mixed-Use Parking & Mobility Facility Design: Platform Parkade, submitted by the Calgary Parking Authority.
- Award of Merit for Stand-Alone Structured Parking Facility Design: LAX Economy Parking Structure, submitted by Watry Design, Inc.
- Award of Merit for Structured Parking Facility Restoration: City of Lansing “Extreme Makeover,” submitted by Walker Consultants.
- Award of Merit for Surface Parking Facility Design: Valley Parking Lot, submitted by University of Southern California, Transportation.
- Award of Merit for Innovation in a Mobility, Transportation, or Parking Program: Parking Supports OHSU’s Equity and TDM Goals for a Post-pandemic Workforce, submitted by the Ohio State University, Transportation & Parking.
- Award of Merit for Innovation in a Mobility, Transportation, or Parking Program: The São Paulo Zona Azul Project, submitted by Estapar.
- Award of Merit for Innovation in a Mobility, Transportation, or Parking Program: UC Davis Daily Parking – The Future of Flexible Commuting, submitted by University of California, Davis, Transportation Services.
- Award of Merit for Marketing and Communications, Public Sector: Slowing Down with the PPA, submitted by the Philadelphia Parking Authority.
- Award of Merit for Marketing and Communications, Public Sector: Sustainable Transportation Month, submitted by University of California, Los Angeles, Transportation.
- Award of Merit for Marketing and Communications, Public Sector: City of Inglewood Remote Parking and Shuttle Program, submitted by LAZ Parking.
