Nevada Drops Parallel Parking from Driving Test
Nevada joined the growing fray of states to drop parallel parking from its driving test to sighs of relief from teenagers and howls of protest from many of their parents. It is the 17th state to remove the skill from licensing exams.
State officials said they stopped testing for parallel parking in mid-January, saying many driving schools don’t teach the skill in routine lessons and that many aspiring drivers failed the test because they couldn’t parallel park. The Department of Motor Vehicles deemed the skill an “unnecessary” part of the test.
