New publication mirrors the ever-expanding roles of parking, mobility, and transportation professionals in keeping people moving

(Anaheim, Calif., June 3, 2019) – Building on its long history of keeping readers abreast of the ever-changing and future-focused parking and mobility industry, this month, IPMI launched a new magazine, Parking & Mobility, and retired The Parking Professional after a long, esteemed history.

Parking & Mobility magazine reflects the changing roles of professionals in today’s interconnected, choice-driven network that encompasses parking, transportation, and mobility. The magazine features a masthead design in a custom font that connotes motion. Its coverage will continue to spotlight parking, which remains central to the industry, along with the broader scope of topics affecting members and industry professionals.

Each issue will feature news, analysis, case studies, and the expertise of IPMI members and industry leaders, which readers can tap to benefit their own organizations and communities.

“We gave a lot of consideration to changing the name of The Parking Professional, as we did with our organizational name change in October,” says IPMI CEO Shawn Conrad, CAE. “We naturally wanted the magazine to develop and mature with IPMI—to embrace mobility and the constantly shifting roles of our members.”

This industry evolution reflects the pivotal role parking and mobility professionals have long had in planning, designing and managing successful transportation ecosystems. New technology, along with the explosive growth of ride-hailing/transportation network companies and the need for expertise in curb management has also contributed.

Debut copies of the new magazine will be distributed at opening session of the IPMI Conference & Expo in Anaheim, Calif. June 6-12, and mailed to members at the same time. An online edition is available at parking-mobility.org/magazine.

Parking & Mobility welcomes article proposals and feedback. They should be directed to editor, Kim Fernandez at fernandez@parking-mobility.org.
