People in the City of Columbus will be able to easily pay for parking right from their mobile device

ATLANTADec. 12, 2018 — Today ParkMobile, the leading provider of smart parking and mobility solutions in North America, announced the launch of the new ParkColumbus app. The ParkColumbus app is an important component of the Short North Parking Plan as an option for paying at parking meters and mobile payment-only parking zones. The ParkColumbus app is available for both iPhone and Android devices.

Starting this week, people in Columbus will begin to see new stickers on the approximately 600 parking meters in the Short North Arts District. The ParkColumbus app will be available on mobile payment-only streets starting January 22, 2019. To pay for parking using the ParkColumbus app, simply enter the zone number posted on the sticker, choose the duration and touch the “start parking” button. The ParkColumbus app will send alerts when the parking session is about to expire so a user can extend time right remotely.

The City of Columbus plans to add mobile payment to all 4,500 parking meters and kiosks starting in late 2019.

Additionally, the ParkColumbus app will offer a resident guest pass, providing special 24-hour parking rates for those visiting residents in the Short North and Children’s Hospital areas. Visit parkcolumbus.com for more information on the resident guest pass program.

With the launch of the ParkColumbus app, ParkMobile continues to expand its presence in Ohio. The service is currently available in CincinnatiToledo and Cleveland and at several universities, including Ohio State UniversityCase Western Reserve and Ohio University.
