A study earlier this year found that transit ridership is decreasing in most cities. But some stand out as having transit use rates that buck the trend and are rising. So what’s going on there?
Streetsblog took a look at several cities where people are using transit more than they used to and identified several concrete things at play: They have increased resources to put toward transit and they’re improving the whole system instead of one route at a time. The blog says those two things can be key to getting more people aboard public transportation.
