We fell in love with the garage at Katwijk aan Zee, the Netherlands, the first time we laid eyes on it. So did a lot of other people; for the first time in memory, a parking garage—this parking garage—was named the Dutch Building of the Year. It’s an amazing 663-space structure whose inside is gorgeous, but it’s the outside that won us over. Situated right on the beach in this beautiful little town, the garage essentially vanishes into the dunes, becoming part of the landscape while it protects the town from rising sea levels.

Katwijk aan Zee is like nothing we’ve ever seen before and it’s featured in the October issue of The Parking Professional. Read the story here and then let us know what you think in the comments below. We can’t wait to hear.
