Worried about cars losing their popularity? According to reports released last week, car sales are expected to jump in May. And it’s not just the analysts noticing a spike in vehicle sales: Sirius XM, the satellite radio company, reports its quarterly revenue has skyrocketed by 11 percent over last quarter thanks to strong auto sales (Sirius previews are included with many new vehicles in the hopes that new car owners will subscribe when the free months end.)

Millennials may very well eschew individual car ownership as some experts predict and alternate transportation continues to grow in popularity (which is a very good thing!). It remains to be seen how their preferences will evolve over time but it appears America’s love affair with cars is far from over.
