Parking Construction: New Technology, Innovation, Practices and Delivery

How a project will be designed and constructed, or the project delivery method are critical considerations made by every owner embarking on a construction project. With a variety of delivery methods in use today, it is possible to tailor a delivery method that best meets the unique needs of each owner and project.  This joint offering from IPI’s Consultant Committee and the Donley’s, a regional Design/Builder and Construction Manager specializing in parking structures,  will examine delivery methods for garage projects and will feature relevant case studies.

Attendees will:

  • Compare available project delivery methods, outlining the advantages and disadvantages of each, including Design-Bid-Build, Construction Management At Risk (CMAR), Design-Build (DB) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
  • Review fundamental project considerations directly impacted by the delivery method selected, including budget, schedule, design process, risk and level of expertise.
  • Apply these concepts specifically to parking garage design and construction, and the unique features of the building type.
